ONE STEP CLOSER

A strategic planning session for the UNLV Graduate College will take place from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at the Richard TAM Alumni Center. The Graduate College is in its first year of the process of transitioning to a stand-alone college, and working towards UNLV’s goal of becoming a tier one research institution. All UNLV students, faculty, and staff are invited to come and partake in the planning exercise to ensure a strong and vital future for graduate education at UNLV. This is the second of two campus-wide planning sessions.

HOMECOMING

Homecoming Week is about to commence on campus. It includes traditional events like the homecoming parade, the alumni dinner, and the Rebel Variety Show talent competition. The week begins Oct. 28 and ends Nov. 2. The Rebels will conclude homecoming week by battling the San Jose Spartans on Saturday, Nov. 2. All homecoming events are open to the public.

BEHIND THE MASK

The first three episodes of Behind the Mask will debut next week on Hulu, featuring UNLV’s own Hey Reb! The online series will focus on what goes on the behind the scenes in the world of sports team mascots. Critics have already chimed in, describing the show as “funny, entertaining and at times poignant.” Along with four other mascots, the show will highlight Jon “Jersey” Goldman who, aside from acting as Hey Reb!, is also an on-air personality at 98.5FM KLUC.
