A large-scale cyberattack targeted more than 100 companies in the United States. It is effectively a computer attack that affected 200 companies through the intermediation of the American company Kaseya, which ensures the supply of a management tool to small and medium-sized companies. The cyberattack that took place yesterday, Friday, July 2, 2021, resulted in ransom demands from the affected companies.
Kaseya quickly shuts down her servers remotely
Earlier today, the computer security company, Huntress Labs, reported that all 200 companies had been victims of ransomware or ransomware. The software by which these have been achieved is called VSA, a tool for managing the server network of multiple printers and computers from a single source. After realizing the attack, Kaseya quickly shut down her remote servers, used by her clients. At the same time, “he immediately warned his customers with his on-site software via email, in-software notice and over the phone to shut down the servers linked to the VSA so they would not be compromised.”
For Huntress Labs, known hackers are behind this cyberattack. In a post on the Reddit forum, he wrote: “Based on computer models, ransomware notes, and TOR URL, we strongly believe” that an affiliate of the hacking group known as Revel or Sodinokibi “is at the origin of these intrusions “.
