discovered a highly contagious mutant variant in Vietnam

Since the emergence of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), which plunged the world into a serious health crisis, the disease has evolved over time. In fact, the virus has gone through several transformations, some of which are more dangerous than others. Such is the case with the Indian variant, which appears to be vaccine resistant and has made the situation worse in India, claiming hundreds of thousands of lives across the country.

“This variant seems to be very dangerous”

A new dangerous variant was recently discovered in Vietnam. It is, in fact, a combination of the Indian and British variants. During an online conference this Saturday, May 29, 2021, the Vietnamese Health Minister Nguyên Thanh Long said: “This variant seems very dangerous, much more transmissible and could reduce the effectiveness of vaccines.” He was also alarmed by the Dangerousness of the variant in question and estimated: “The main characteristic of this virus is that it is transmitted quickly in the air. The virus concentration in the throat and saliva increases rapidly and spreads very quickly in the area.

Note that Vietnam, which until then had been weakly affected by the coronavirus, has had 47 deaths and 6,700 reported cases from Covid-19 since April. However, the country is currently facing a new wave of epidemic that is still difficult to contain. With regard to the newly discovered variant, the minister did not provide any information about infected people.
