The land is getting worse. At least that’s what we can learn from a study conducted by the US federal agency, NASA, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), published on July 15, 2021, in the journal Geophysical Research Letters. From this study, it appears that planet Earth receives more energy from the sun than it rejects space.
“This balance is changing”
The situation is due to greenhouse gases. Even so, according to the study by the two agencies, the difference between the energy received from the sun and that rejected by the Earth has doubled between 2005 and 2019. On Twitter, NASA indicated that: “The Earth’s climate is based on a delicate balance between energy coming from the Sun, mainly in the form of light, and radiated as heat to space. As human greenhouse gas emissions trap more heat in Earth’s atmosphere, this balance is shifting. ”
The US space agency returned, on its website, to the consequences of climate change on the planet. «Le réchauffement entaîne d’autres changements, tels que la fonte de la neige et de la glace, ainsi qu’une augmentation of the vapeur d’eau et des changements dans les nuages qui peuvent encore accentuer le réchauffement» at- she writes .
