Spahn considers 2G model worth discussing |

No access for people tested but not vaccinated or recovered in order to be able to waive certain protective measures? The Minister of Health does not fundamentally reject it.

Hamburg (dpa) – Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) considers the 2G option model introduced in Hamburg for vaccines and convalescents to be worth discussing.

The federal and state governments have agreed on the 3G model, which is the same treatment for those who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered and those who have been tested, Spahn said in the “Abendblatt” podcast “Policymakers meet Haider” (Tuesday). “But I do not find the approach of the Hamburg Senate so reckless to say: 3G applies in principle, but with 2G you can do without certain protective measures.”

Leaving that to the organizers, and not dictating politically, could prevent “a major conflict in our society,” Spahn said. Vaccinated or not vaccinated, this is a question that arouses emotions and controversies. “I am absolutely in favor of vaccination, but at the same time I think it is important that the existing tensions do not turn into divisions,” said the Minister of Health.

For those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered, there will be no further contact restrictions in the aftermath of the pandemic, Spahn said: “We have already returned to a lot of normalcy and everyday life, although Hamburg still has relatively strict rules. What we experienced during the first three waves will not happen again like this. “
