Popular short video sharing app TikTok has decided to do more for its content creators. In fact, he chose to increase the duration of the videos on his platform to 3 minutes, while until then they lasted a maximum of one minute. It was yesterday, Thursday, July 1, 2021, that the application delivered the information.
“Bring your culinary demonstrations to life”
TikTok users may be eligible for this opportunity in the coming weeks. In a statement issued on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, TikTok’s product manager, Drew Kirchhoff, gave the reasons why the platform made this decision. “Designers often tell us that they would like to have a little more time to bring their cooking demonstrations, beauty tutorials, classes and skits to life,” she said. With more extensive content, users will be able to express themselves better through your content. “With longer videos, creators will have the canvas to create new or expanded content on TikTok, with the flexibility of a little more space,” added Drew Kirchhoff.
Note that with the extension of the duration of the content on TikTok, the application shows its intentions to compete with YouTube. The latter, who is currently a benchmark in terms of video content creation, had wanted this year to adopt the same concept as TikTok with YouTube Shorts.
