The information released this Friday morning has the effect of a bomb. Canalys, a Singapore-based company that specializes in channel research, has published a ranking of companies that make smartphones based on sales in the second quarter of the current year. We observe in the ranking, the invasion of Chinese groups.
According to early figures from Canalys, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has overtaken Apple to become the world’s second-largest smartphone salesperson in the second quarter of this year. The Beijing-based group reportedly saw a sales increase of more than 80% between March and June.
Apart from this Chinese group, two other groups from the middle empire are present in the top 5. They are OPPO and Vivo, which are respectively fourth and fifth according to Canalys’ first estimates. Like Xiaomi, these companies offer relatively low prices for smartphones.
